QUARTERLY CONFERENCE: The 4th Quarterly Conference for the Potomac District with Presiding Elder Braxton will be this Thurs., Feb. 27th at 7:30 p.m. All ministry heads are asked to come out with your reports.

LENTEN SEASON: The Lenten Season is quickly approaching. Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season. Join us for Ash Wednesday service with Pastor Grainger Browning this Wed., Feb. 26th at 7 p.m. 

Each Friday morning at 6 AM during Lenten Season the Ministerial staff will share the Word. Rev. Angela Milligan will preach on Fri., Feb. 28 at 6 a.m.

2020 WOMEN’S SEASON: Women’s Season 2020 is almost here! Sisters get ready for God to work a WONDER! The Women’s Season Consecration, Commitment and Restoration Kick-Off service is this Sun., March 1st at 5 p.m. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Dr. Jessica Ingram. Sisters, wear your white and come out to be consecrated as we start the season. You’ll also be able to sign-up for the various committees. We know that God is a WONDER!

NEW MEMBERS: The next New Members’ class is Sat., March 7th at 10 a.m. and will focus on faith and salvation.

CALL TO MINISTRY: The next Call to Ministry meeting with Pastor Jo Ann Browning will be held Tues., March 3rd at 7:30 p.m.

BAPTISM: The next baptism instruction class is Mon., March 9th at 7 p.m.

COMFORT MINISTRY: The Department of Comfort & Congregational Care will hold its 2020 Annual Summit Sat., Feb. 29th. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. the summit will begin at 9 a.m. This year’s theme is “A Call to Action…Godly People Taking Care of the Temple of God.” Cost is $25 for adults and $5 per family for children ages 6-18 years of age. Be enlightened, inspired and empowered in the care of your temple…mind, body and spirit. Learn how you can add years to your life with basic care. The day will include special sessions for men, sessions for women and a full-day program just for children and youth. Register after service today or contact the Comfort Office at 301-265-8281.

YOUNG ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Young Adults, be part of our Young Adult movement. Don’t meet us, beat us to Young Adult Bible Study this Thurs., Feb. 27th at 7:30 p.m.

CHILDREN’S (KL4C) BIBLE STUDY: This month, our kids will join the teenagers for a special Black History Youth and Children’s Bible Study Fri., Feb. 28th at 7 p.m.

SOCIAL CONSCIOUS MINISTRY: The Social Conscious Ministry will be conducting a Voter Registration Drive during the month of March.  Stop by their table in the Narthex after first service each Sunday to register and receive more information.

GIRL SCOUTS: Let’s help our Girl Scouts continue to do extraordinary things. Support the Girl Scouts Cookie fundraiser by purchasing your favorite box of cookies after service today in the Narthex.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Help the Potomac District with making strides to support higher education by spreading the word about the 5K Run/Walk Sat., March 7th. Recruit your family, friends and co-workers to join the Sunday School in this effort! The 5K is open to all! Sponsors are also welcome. Register after service today.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH: February is Black History Month and today is the last Sunday of this month. Our last fact for the month is about the AME Church Founder, Richard Allen. Allen was a minister, educator, writer and businessman. In 1816, he led the formation of the first organized religious denomination in the U.S. Today, the AME Church has more than 2.5 million members and 7,000 congregations around the world.
