NEW MEMBERS CLASS: The next New Members’ class will be held Sat., Feb. 25th at 10a.m. and will focus on Stewardship.

MORNING MIRACLE SERVICES: Join us at 6 a.m. beginning Mon., March 6th for Morning Miracle services – Miraculous Mondays, Triumphant Tuesdays, and Wondrous Wednesdays with Pastor Grainger Browning each Mon. through Wed. until Easter.

2017 LENTEN SEASON SERVICES: Come out for our weekly Lenten Services each Friday at 6 a.m. starting March 3rd and every Friday until Good Fri., April 14th on the third floor. A member of the ministerial staff will preach each week.

LAY ORGANIZATION MINISTRY: The Lay Ministry is conducting its monthly meeting Thurs, Feb. 23rd at 7 p.m. Join them as they celebrate Founder’s Day and Black History Month with a special program, “The Crisis in Black Education.” You can also join or renew your membership for 2017.

SOCIAL CONSCIOUS MINISTRY: Tired of talking about the president, Congress, and social issues in our community? Do you feel the need to DO something? The Social Conscious Ministry is the perfect place for you! Meet Sat., Feb. 25th at 10:30 a.m. in the WRRC. It’s Time to WAKE UP!!!

COMFORT & YOUTH COMFORT GRIEF INITIATIVE SUMMIT: Join the COMFORT & YOUTH COMFORT GRIEF INITIATIVE SUMMIT Sat., Feb. 25th. This year’s focus will be on mind, body and spirit for all. There is also a full day of activities portion for Young people between the ages of 6-18 to minister to their losses. Breakfast workshops, panels, lunch and closing worship service are included. Summit donation is: $25 Adults (ages 19 & up) and $5 for Youth (per family – ages 6-18). Info is available in the Narthex, Admin. Area, and 2nd floor. AFRICAN/AFRICAN-AMERICAN LIBERATION MINISTRYSHOP: “Explore Our African/African-American Roots” with Rev. Dr. Michele Balamani Silvera, Sat., Feb. 25th at 9 a.m. in the Original Sanctuary. African-inspired fashions for sale after.  Free gifts and light refreshments served.

EDUCATION MINISTRY: Did did you know Common Core is not a curriculum? It is a clear set of shared goals and expectations for what knowledge and skills will help students succeed in English, Language Arts and Math. Local teachers, principals, superintendents, and others decide how the standards are met. Parents are key partners. We are developing a database to support our educators and schools.  Letters and  forms can be downloaded from the church web site or picked up in the Narthex.

SAT PREP/EDUCATION: New SAT PREP classes are March 11th, 18th, 25th and April 1st from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Applications are accepted from all high school students.  If you have submitted an application there is no need to resubmit it. Registration fee is $125. Leave a message for Sis. Watson or Sis. Higgins at the Admin. office.

GIRL SCOUTS: It is cookie season! Stop by the Girl Scout booth after service to purchase your favorite Girl Scout cookie to support our Girl Scouts Ministry.

CREATIVE GIFTS SEMINAR & CELEBRATION AT EBENEZER: Ebenezer’s first CREATIVE GIFTS SEMINAR & CELEBRATION is Fri., March 10th – Sun., March 12th. Come develop your creative gifts. Sign-up today in the Narthex. Cost is only $5 for adults and free for all youth ages 5-17.

THE ACADEMIC EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION, INC. (AEF) CFC 91829; The Hyattsville – Landover (MD) Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Inc. of MD will host and sponsor a FREE SAT Workshop with information on the new and revised College Board SAT and Financial Aid Information Forum for Parents and guardians Sat., March 11th from 8:30a.m1:00 p.m. for all area students in grades 7-12.  These FREE workshops will be held at Flowers High School Register online at www.hlkapsi.org.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH: It’s Black History Month and each week, we are sharing a fact about our history.. On Feb. 14, Richard Allen was born. Bishop Allen rose from slavery to freedom to become the first African-American ordained in the Methodist Episcopal Church and founded the African Methodist Episcopal Church. His wife Sarah is The Founding Mother of the AME Church and was the church’s first female missionary.
